Privacy
Myrelith edits on your device. Your source videos, audio, images, and project files are not uploaded to Myrelith or Cloudflare.
Who is responsible
Myrelith is maintained by Aryel in Belgium. For privacy questions or requests, contact the maintainer through the GitHub profile. Do not put private media or personal information in a public issue.
Data stored on your device
Myrelith may use browser storage for:
- preferences and the last export selection;
- browser-managed file handles for recent projects and remembered media, when you grant access;
- bounded crash-recovery snapshots containing project names, timeline structure, settings, caption text, and source metadata;
- an optional speech model in Cache Storage, installed only when you choose to download it or select the exact model file; and
- temporary decoded media, previews, and export data in memory while you edit.
Recovery storage does not contain source media bytes. File handles are opaque browser permissions, not saved filesystem paths. Browser storage remains until you remove an item in Myrelith, clear site data, or the browser evicts it. Closing a tab clears working memory.
Browser storage belongs to the exact site origin. Moving to
myrelith.pages.dev cannot automatically transfer
preferences, recent-file shortcuts, recovery copies, or remembered
permissions from the previous public hostname. Save a portable project
file there and open it in Myrelith; local media may need permission again.
Optional local transcription
Choosing Download and install model requests the pinned Whisper model from Hugging Face and its file-delivery hosts. Those hosts receive the network request needed to deliver the model, including your IP address. Myrelith sends this download without credentials or a referrer. Selecting the exact local model file instead does not request a model download.
Audio decoding and transcription run on your device. Myrelith does not upload your audio or transcript. Review text stays in memory until you apply it; applied captions become ordinary project data and may appear in local saves and recovery snapshots. The model cache is separate from project files, has a 96 MiB budget including installation, and can be removed using Remove local model, the app's local-data controls, or your browser's site-data controls. The browser may also evict cached files. Speech runtime files are served with the app; opening the app can still require a connection.
Data processed by the host
Cloudflare Pages delivers and protects this site. It may process IP address, request time and URL, browser/device information, referrer, language or locale, and security events, and may produce aggregate traffic and country statistics. Myrelith uses Cloudflare on the basis of the maintainer's legitimate interests in securely delivering and protecting the site. Cloudflare may process data outside the EEA using safeguards described in its terms, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

Sharing and automated decisions
Myrelith does not sell personal data or use it for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Site request data is shared with Cloudflare as needed to host and protect the site. An optional model download also contacts the model hosts described above. Data may be disclosed if legally required.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and withdraw consent when consent is the legal basis. Most Myrelith app data exists only in your browser and can be deleted by clearing the site's data. The maintainer cannot retrieve media or local data that was never sent.
Contact the maintainer for hosted-site requests. You may also complain to your local authority; in Belgium this is the APD/GBA.
Changes
This notice may change when the app, hosting, or data practices change. Material changes will be dated and published here.
