Open-source software

Licenses

Myrelith's own source is available under the permissive MIT License. Bundled dependencies keep their original licenses.

MIT lets you use, copy, modify, and distribute Myrelith while preserving the copyright and permission notice. The software comes without warranty.

Runtime components

Exact versions and integrity hashes are locked in package-lock.json. Source links and redistribution notes are listed in the repository's THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.

Optional local speech

The local transcription worker uses whisper.cpp (MIT), built with Emscripten 6.0.8. The optional Whisper tiny Q8 model is downloaded or selected by the user. Its model card identifies MIT, and the OpenAI Whisper MIT notice is preserved. The exact upstream conversion and quantizer revision is unknown.

Download speech runtime and model notices. This archive includes whisper.cpp, OpenAI Whisper, Emscripten, and the included C/C++ runtime component notices. Exact source, model, and payload identities are recorded in the repository's THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and speech model decision record.

FFmpeg-derived AC-3/E-AC-3 module

The optional local AC-3/E-AC-3 decoder extension contains a WebAssembly module built from a minimal FFmpeg configuration. FFmpeg is licensed under LGPL-2.1-or-later unless optional parts change that license. Review FFmpeg's legal page, source downloads, and the exact packaged sources before redistributing Myrelith.

Codec patent rights are separate from copyright licenses and vary by jurisdiction and use. This experimental prerelease is not a patent-clearance or legal-compliance certification.
